-Name: Persephone Ashbrook -Age:11 -Appearance: bright ginger hair, pale skin and green eyes -Pros: intelligent, pretty -Cons: doesn't know how to relax, firey temper -Special abilities: Metamorphmagus Fire power -Special equipment: Marauders map -Wand: Willow, 13½ inches, phoenix feather core -Backstory: Flaira Aubenfall was the Great, Great Grandmother of Persephone. She was given her powers by a phoenix– an ancestor of the very phoenix that sat in the office of Albus Dumbledore. Its gift was passed down the generations through her father's side, though it was thought lost completely until her birth. She is the first to inherit the power. Persephone's mother was a metamorphmagus, and therefore she was gifted with the ability to change her appearance at will, sometimes without really thinking about it depending on her mood. The same is true for Persephone. However, her natural form is as shown next to 'appearance' above. Persephone now lives in an orphanage under the tyrannous rule of Mrs Morris (Mr Morris is dead, sad). This is because as a baby, her mother left her with no possessions to her name other than a silver locket that burned white-hot when anybody but her daughter touched it, engraved with her name. Inside, there sat a note folded tightly, explaining in short the entire of the above, and telling her to keep her powers secret. The Mother soon died of cancer. Of course, Mrs Morris knew about her fire and disguise abilities as, when she was a baby, Persephone knew nothing of secrecy. Mrs Morris went to find her to give back the child, disgusted by her paranormal qualities, and received the information after searching for any family relations; Mother - dead, Father - dead, and no other known family members. Mrs Morris was forced to keep her. She now knew at least the girl's mother's name: Hypatia Fairweather, but she'd already been christened with the surname "Ashbrook". She does not know about the wizarding community, nor does Persephone, and nor does she know that she is one, simply believing - encouraged by Mrs Morris - that she is an 'abnormal brat, courtesy of Hell'. Mrs Morris is a strict, unfair woman determined to make her life miserable. Because of her 'abnormality', Mrs Morris kept her locket out of sight of all other orphans until the age of 7, keeping her in her own private chambers until she could successfully control her abilities, and pretending that she'd only been given to the orphanage that day, rather than admitting her imprisonment to the children, and after making Persephone swear to keep herself under control. Sheesh- long explanation! Bit different from the original, but that's the point.
