The following is a brief summary of Anya Petroska's life until her accepting the role of Figurehead of the Daughters of Alam. Anya Petroska, born 1880 (aged 28), is the figurehead of the leading party of the Totroska Federation, the Daughters of Alam, and serves as the de-facto leader in both domestic and international relations. Anya does not posses any executive power besides her singular vote in the sisterhood, however, most citizens of Totroska follow her words as law, even outside of the Orthodox world. Anya, born to the revered Petroska family, who have a almost deity-like status in Alamic society, was raised in Totroska province, a heavily Alamic Orthodox leaning region of the nation. Since she was young, Anya was always meant to succeed her mother -- perhaps not in her current form, but she had prepared for this event all of her life. A quiet, mysterious, and devout individual, not much is known about Anya, besides her fondness of traditional Alamic teas. During her early 20s, Anya would have a brief rebellious stint to escape from the strict, divine Alamic life, and would study in Thirestria for a extended period of time. During this period, she would become disgusted with the sexual immorality that she perceived as pervasive within their collegiate society, and would return to her Alamic duties with a new vigor of purity. However, this move had shunned her from more esoteric sects within Alamic theology, though the majority accepts her as a prodigal daughter.
The following is a brief summary of why Anya Petroska became Figurehead of the Daughters of Alam, and what the Daughters of Alam (sometimes refereed to as the sisterhood) is. Anya was the sole heir of Asya Petroska, one of the last descendants of Pyotr Petroska, the revered prophet of Alam. After the Great Alamic Schism in 1897, the Kingdom of Alam split into 13 theological denominations and nations -- in 1906, Asya Petroska brokered the creation of the Totroska Federation, formed as an agreement between the 13 denominations in the capital city of Totroska. As per the unification agreements, each denomination was given one 'daughter', who is traditionally the female member of the church closest in blood to Pyotr. Each sister serves as a representative for their respective denomination, and is theologically positioned as a "daughter of Alam" (I know, on the nose, right?) As the Petroska bloodline is of direct linage to Pyotr, they are chosen as the figureheads of the sisterhood, the symbolic head of state. Just a few months after the Totroska Federation was created, Asya Petroska mysteriously died of unknown causes, causing the 28-year-old Anya Petroska to take her place as figurehead. For one year the federation and sisterhood has stood strong -- though internal strife begins to slowly erode at the bounds of the agreement. Devoutly educated in Orthodox Alamic beliefs, Anya has developed a staunch distaste for what she believes is the heretical, more liberal theology of other 12 denominations. For now, however -- she keeps her quiet animosity as what it is -- hidden.
