A person, human it seemed, was walking through the heavy wilderness. Artificial plants designed for ancient animals were everywhere-Perhaps Hammond should've questioned if the ancient animals would spread the seeds and spores around, but he was too lost in the wonder of artificial plastic eggs and living prehistoric creatures to have any rationale. The suit the human wore was thick and shiny, and a few words that could be made out in the darkness spelled out 'InGen'. Somewhere nearby, a tree branch snapped. "Agent, have you found the specimen yet?" The small radio crackled awake, spooking the agent slightly. "No... Specimen has been well hidden. Sir, can you explain to me what exactly I am looking for-?" "Classified, Agent Coleman. All you need to know is that it has long claws, small beak and yellow eyes. That should help you find it. You have your orders." The radio went quiet before Coleman could press further. "These corporations, don't even tell me anything and the pay is low." Unwanted memories reminded them of how people would disappear on the job. Rumors of carnivores that held deep anger for humanity, and hybrid creatures held in captivity. Coleman had considered quitting after having to clean out nests and dispose of odd smelling trash, but this was the only job that wanted them. "Those s-" They were cut off by rustling behind them, and slowly turned around. It was just a small bird. Jeeze, they were jumpy. It was just a simple job, they said. This work had mostly been cleaning, how hard could this one be? Coleman looked up and- It was close. Too close. A giant thing loomed over them, with a small beak and glinting teeth running along the jaw. But what really caught their eye were the claws. Long sharp claws. Were these the beasts everyone talked about? Was that why Coleman's coworkers gave them a pitying look when InGen assigned this job to them? They had been given scraps, and was being thrown away like one. Coleman should've known, should've known that InGen would leave them out here. And their FRIENDS, why didn't they tell them? Was it that hopeless? The agent stared up at the creature, flinching a bit as it walked forward. Tiny feather-like fluffs running down its back, black on top with a white belly underneath and red coloring down its neck and tail. Coleman felt its nose sniffing closer, bumping them over slightly. They closed their eyes, feeling slimy drool drip on their suit. The radio crackled somewhere nearby. "Agent, you there? Hello?" No response. The man put the radio down, and sat back down in his chair. "Reporting: Agent Coleman has not responded and is to be considered gone forever-No one comes out of that place alive." Tags:
