The Anzu measured roughly 3.5 to 3.75 meters (11 to 12 feet) and weighed 440 to 660 pounds (200 to 300 kilograms). The Anzu filled a unique ecological niche, showing a diverse dinosaur evolution and the first detailed look at oviraptorosaurs within North America. The Anzu likely used its large crest similarly to modern day cassowaries for species recognition or attracting mates. Anzu fossils featured healed injures, suggesting Anzu encountered predators and sometimes fought them.
