Desenzitation [] Upd 001 [] Today, I desenitized Twinkle. She has just arrived and is doing wonderfully, so today was time for some training. I brought her to the arena and then went to grab a red flag. I approached Twinkle with the flag very carefully and then lowered it towards her muzzle so she could give it a good sniff. She touched it very gently and flinched a little, but relaxed, so I moved closer. I touched it to her shoulder, then to her withers, and hip. Afterwards, I touched it to the top of her neck very carefully, but she had no reaction, which is a good sign. I then walked back to the tack room, and grabbed a pool noodle. She watched a bit nervously, but calmed down after I touched it to her shoulder/withers area, and hip. After this, I laid down a tarp and then walked her over it. She spooked at the end of the tarp, so we finished training. The day had been pretty nerve racking for her I assume, but she got through it very well with very little stress, and I didn't press her to be comfortable. Before putting her to pasture I walked her in the round pen to exercise her and then turned her out to graze. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Credits- Rider [] @-TheConjuring Everything Else [] Me.
