⬫ ┈┈┈ ⬫ ┈┈┈ ⬫ time to procrastinate physics :> ⬫ ┈┈┈ ⬫ ┈┈┈ ⬫ 1. the session that made you want to apply and why? my very first, march '21! but i didn't think i could be active or dedicated enough until november '24 and then i took the leap in march '25! 2. was your first app a co+leader app or co only? co+leader 3. first app of yours? career options https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1115880658/ 4. most recent app of yours? post-exams wishlist https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1322737449/ 5. app question that takes the least amount of time? checkboxes! or if that doesn't count, cabin atmosphere 6. app question that takes the longest? about me because there's so much i want to say and not enough space to say it 7. favourite app question? i liked the one quality question! it really made me think. i also love the swc impact question as well. and of course, cabin preferences!! 8. least favourite app question? time dedication and management because i cannot manage my time effectively for the life of me (we are procrastinating revising physics as we speak apparently i'm still in denial about a levels-) 9. app question with answers you find most fun to read? cabin preferences! i love seeing everyone's answers to these and to see what sort of cool cabins we could get! 10. any specific habits on answering questions (order, time of session etc)? i usually type them out as i get motivation to! i start with about me and cabin ideas, everything else comes after. i usually start them after the previous app season has ended but then leave everything wildly blank until the leader apps get released or something- 11. app that took the least amount of time? post-exams wishlist https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1322737449/ this was coded and designed in one evening by me, with answers written over several days because i was not sacrificing friday to leader apping when i should be revising 12. app that took the most amount of time? on this stage, we sing getting all the assets and desiging the slides and stories was a fun ride :') 13. favourite app by another swc-er you’ve ever seen? um... i'm not really sure don't make me pick :sob: 14. how do you (usually) pick app themes? they're usually one of three things - a video game i'm obsessed with - a crisis/panic/something i'm going through - something i'm currently obsessed with i'll also make a list of theme ideas!! 15. an app of yours you wish you could’ve spent more time and effort on? my latest app because it was coded and designed in one evening and i really didn't have the time to do anything like art or refine my answers more because i was pulling six hour days revising and crashing out in the evenings 16. have you ever made an app that has the same theme as the cabin you were looking to lead that session? (...very random but genuinely curious cause i’ve seen quite a few xD) yes!! my march '26 app asked for a real fi cabin based on the our golden days event and it was project sekai themed! also, probably my next app but things might change so we'll see... also my upcoming app (hopefully) 17. what are some things you do to counter motivation loss during app season (drop your tips and share with all of us please :pleading:)? - i force myself to answer the questions and set myself deadlines - beg for motivation from the swc community - spam message hope about app progress to keep myself accountable
18. what are some app themes you’ve considered but didn’t end up going with? (doesn’t have to be this session only, any ideas for apps from past sessions is okay too!) - model united nations has been considered at least three times but i never got around to it because my idea was too complex for what i could actually do - exam timetables but that wouldn't really work - public transit maps but i didn't have time to do what i wanted to do with this one - passport stamps but it got rejected by me for some reason - setlist which was going to be a concert themed app featuring all my favourite artists but i couldn't get the graphics right for that - civil engineering and infrastructure themed apps because y e s - sakura no hanabiratachi - concepts in a level sciences because i have exams guys 19. what is the latest you’ve stayed up for anything leader apps (waiting for results, working on app late at night etc)? surprisingly nothing!! 20. if leader apps were a food, what food would it be? ... yume are you hungry?? 21. if your apps all had their own personalities, which one would you want to be friends with the most? probably my whimsy travel app or my career crisis app 22. adding on to previous question, is there an app you would probably want to avoid if they were sentient? ... the career crisis app or possibly the applying to university app. i'd really like to tell my applying to university app self that everything will be okay and you can stop panicking 23. words of advice to someone who’s thinking of making a swc app for the first time? go for it! you'll never know what could happen. your app doesn't have to be extremely polished, and there'll be loads of people in the swc community willing to give you feedback if you don't get in (or even if you do get in!) 24. least favourite app you’ve made? probably my latest one because i did not put as much effort into it as i should lol 25. favourite app (or just the one you’re most proud of!) you’ve made and why? career crisis / career options app! i loved making it since i got to pour my heart and soul into my very real career crisis then when i was struggling between civeng and paramedicine! i might still go into paramedicine we'll see i also loved my travel themed app i also poured my heart and soul into that design! and there were so many photos aaaaa i also also also love my applying to university themed app because it was just absolutely hilarious to be plotting this in the background based on a comment gigi said to me and then releasing it and watching the fallout- also because the app window took a while to code and there were so many if else statements used in that app it was pretty fun 26. what is your favourite part about making an app? i love doing the coding and then fixing other people's coding! it's nice to know that i can still code things and work out problems even though i only do it three times a year 27. any other fun facts about your app making process you’d like to share? - i used to have a document where i'd make a new tab for each of my apps - most of my app is designed and completed between the day leader apps release and the end of the leader apps deadline - i usually dedicate saturday mornings to apping for some reason lol 28. do you have plans to make more apps in the future? yes!! i'm going to be taking a break from leading next session as i am heading into do an incredibly loaded course (civil engineering) so i'll be taking a break to settle in, then i'll be reapplying in either march '27 or july '27 with a new app!! which i'm super excited for since it'll probably take hours based on gameplay alone... 29. advertise one of your apps here ^^ xD hi you should all go look at career options and my applying to university app: career options: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1115880658/ applying to university: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1211970012/ i'm proud of both of these and couldn't pick one 30. tag some swc-ers that should definitely answer these questions as well! hope @euphoriafall skibidisandy @sandy-dunes mildsix sevendred @moosywoosy ember @emberzz_ ⬫ ┈┈┈ ⬫ ┈┈┈ ⬫ credits ◦ thumbnail made by yume on canva! ◦ questions written by yume ◦ swc for being swc <33 a list of everyone who contributed to this camp up until now can be found here: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/809038/?page=1#post-8423770 ⬫ ┈┈┈ ⬫ ┈┈┈ ⬫
