The legend of Valiance (so far) There once was a demon, a demon of great power. His name was Radiance. Radiance fought valiantly against the lord of the underworld, Asylum. Once he had defeated the demon king he fled for the human realm and settled in England under the alias of Paul Arch. In the year 1982, Paul fathered a son whom he named Valiance, or Veil as a nickname. Veil was a namesake from Paul’s deceased brother who died in the effort against Asylum. A year and a half later, Paul had another son whom he named Finale to signify the end of Hell’s struggle against Asylum. Finale and Valiance had a somewhat difficult relationship as they were both brothers but they fought over the meaning of their existence. Finale argued that they were simply born in significance to birth and heir to continue their bloodline, but Valiance argued they were the succession of Paul and needed to become stronger than he could ever become. One day in 1993 as legend goes, Paul gave Finale the sword known as Heaven, while he told Valiance that his future sword would be waiting in Hell. Not knowing what this meant, Valiance simply trained his gunslinging and footwork rather than training the blade lie, his brother who wielded Heaven. In the year 1997, Paul, his wife, and his sons were ambushed by former members of the demon army who fought on the side of Asylum years ago. Paul unleashed his Devil Gauge, a trigger of sorts which transforms a half human-half demon (or a hiding demon) into their devilish form, Paul’s Devil Gauge was the Spike Devil Gauge, supported by his blade; the Egoist Spike katana. His Gauge was incredibly powerful but years without using it or being in his demon form weakened it, allowing the opposing demons to kill Paul and his wife leaving Valiance and Finale to escape together from the horrific sight. Valiance in this time had stolen the Egoist Spike from his father and claimed ownership of it, transforming his Devil Gauge into his fathers as the Egoist Spike held immense devilish power. The year is 2000, the brothers split up years ago to pursue their own goals and become the strongest half demon in order to destroy the demons who killed their father. Valiance went under the hit man alias of Theodore Huxley and trained in the art of the sword to make up for the lost time when he had not yet claimed a sword. About a year from then, Valiance chose to participate in the Triumvivrial tournament in which he faced an overwhelming opponent in his fight against Ito Blue, who demonstrated just how weak Valiance was, and by using Valiance’s own sword the Egoist Spike, he sent Valiance to the underworld. There, Valiance met one of his father’s most trusted allies, the Infinite Reality demon. The IRD taught Valiance very important techniques as he had not yet mastered his Devil Gauge’s true nature, this is where Valiance learned about one of his most famous techniques; Mayhem. Mayhem allows one to summon in any amount of clones of oneself by channeling their demonic power in a blue electric wave of energy. A few years had passed since the IRD had “graduated” Valiance and gave him Radiance’s secondary blade Limbo, a katana of immense power and speed. With Limbo, Valiance spent 3 years clearing out a majority of the demons remaining in the underworld, but as he entered a strange labyrinth one day, it seemed he missed one. This demon took the form of his father Radiance and had his strength as well, which was overwhelming for Valiance and eventually led to him being killed again. 2 weeks later: Two beings called Variant and Veiled woke up in the human realm, both having a similar body as Valiance. They spent 2 years alongside the brother of Valiance, Finale, finding a way to resurrect Valiance using Variant’s blade Armageddon (a sword with power similar to Limbo). They would be successful after another year and immediately, Variant and Veiled merged into one and disappeared into the underworld. Valiance was back. Valiance spent only a single day escaping the underworld and regaining mastery over his body.
(Not complete at the moment) Here’s a list of Valiance’s current major techniques for you power scalers: 1 - Rechnaw (pronounced Wreck-Naw/nah): Rechnaw is a destructive force used in underworld swordsmanship which uses explosive power to either drive one and one’s blade upwards or in a single direction. (The upgraded version by Mayhem allows Valiance to use a cleave into an opponent with the force of Rechnaw). 2 - Cleaving: Cleaving is a set of moves that allow Valiance to instantly slice into any enemy via Mayhem, examples are Aerial Cleave, and Forward dashing Rechnaw. 3 - After Cuts: After Cuts are his version of “judgment cuts” as he can use them to extend a combo of attacks with 5, short, Mayhem based attacks. 4 - Instance: Instant Death and Instant Cuts are moves using Mayhem’s sub-power of allowing the user to teleport to a specific clone, this means that Valiance can move so fast it is impossible to notice, allowing for quick, seamless slices using the Iaijutsu (combative) or Iaidō (meditative/disciplinary). 5 - Quick Slice: The only viable example for this technique is his ultimate move Thousand Slices which lets exactly one thousand slices instantly drive themselves into an opponent. Not much to say. 6 - Mayhem: Mayhem allows Valiance to summon in a clone of himself who will do an attack for him, he can use this to teleport in the place of said clone. (Mayhem can upgrade other techniques with instant variants).
