so i saw this: "https://www.quora.com/Is-Jennie-a-better-rapper-than-Soyeon" and wanted to answer it myself by comparing the two. now keep in mind this has nothing to do with whether i like the two, i dislike both of them. this isnt biased. just to show you what we're evaluating: flow [rhythm, pocket, cadence (timing, stress, pitch)] speed diction lyricism delivery FLOW COMPARISON: rhythm-soyeon soyeon has a better sense of rhythm and has executed much harder ones than jennie has. pocket-soyeon when you think about it, jennie only does one pocket and thats her late one. it works for blackpinks concept but in a rap comparison...yeah no. soyeon to my knowledge has executed multiple pockets. cadence - soyeon we know that soyeon already won timing (timing is basically just rhythm and pocket put together). now for pitch..jennie doesnt actually get obliterated here, contrary to popular opinion. she just doesnt win. shes done different pitches. anyway, for the stress part, soyeon 100%. soyeon has stressed harder syllables than jennie. overall-soyeon im not surprised to be honest. soyeon has such an insane flow. SPEED-soyeon jennie's fastest rap is 7.88 sps and soyeon's is 8.something sps. im not sure what exactly im meant to say here, evaluating speed is literally just looking at stats to put it simply. DICTION-soyeon when performing live, jennie's diction is mushy. its more yelling than rapping which makes it impossible to understand what shes saying. but soyeon? even at high speeds you can understand EVERYTHING. LYRICISM-tie i'll be honest, soyeon beats jennie in korean lyricism by a lot. but in english? jennie obliterates her. its likely because jennie is fluent in english and soyeon isnt there yet. so this one depends on which language youre talking about. also, dont use the "soyeon isnt fluent in english this isnt fair!" excuse please. soyeon's job is to write in both. is soyeon's lyricism good in korean? good is an understatement, actually. but in english it makes no sense. DELIVERY: soyeon jennie's sad rap in stay was executed so well and soyeon's rapping in allergy was the same. but being honest when performed live its like..jennie where did your emotion go?? and the rap in stay was one of her only emotional ones soyeon has done many emotional raps.
