Okay yeah i'm definitely loving this series being written out rather than a comic, it makes it so much easier to get episodes out and really dive into what the characters are thinking and feeling :] Also there's probably going to be a bit of a wait between this episode and episode 3 because I want to spread them out a bit :] Anyways, here's Episode 2 below! :D They had been walking down a dirt path through the wild plains for almost half the day when they reached the small town where V lived. Saber was excited, but also very nervous, she hadn't seen him in months. Not because of any conflict between them, no, they were really quite close, but they had just seemed to get busy and not have enough time to write to each other or meet up like they used to. "V's place is just up ahead..." Saber said, the anticipation made her heart race a bit. She walked up to one of the little houses and knocked on the door. A curious noman answered the door, he looked confused for a moment, as he wasn't expecting guests, but as soon as he realized who it was, he was instantly overjoyed. "Saber!?" He yelled excitedly. Saber beamed, "V! Hi-" before she could finish, V grabbed her and pulled her into an extremely tight hug. She couldn't breathe. She tapped on his shoulder and he dropped her. "Whoops. Sorry, heh." He laughed. Saber smiled, she had missed him. It was then that V noticed the band of nomen behind Saber. "What're you all doing here?" he asked. "Well....*explanation* and we need your help." Saber said. "Oh. Well... that sounds.. exciting! Let's go!" V said happily, he was always up for an adventure. However, this time, maybe he should have thought a little more before agreeing.. "Alright, what's the plan?" Eve said as they started away from V's house. "What plan?" Jinx asked. Leo stared at her, "The plan... for.. this." he said. Had she really forgotten why they were there already? Jinx could be a bit airheaded and silly sometimes, but this was ridiculous. "Well... Yven said we should try Karreo first to get that map." Saber said, leading them the way Yven's directions described. "Oh yeah.. forgot about the map.." Eve muttered. "Perfect! Let's head there!" V said, excited for what this new adventure would bring. (Continuation in Notes & Credits! :D)
/!\ Continuation below!! /!\ Please do not continue to here until you've finished the part in the instructions :] A few minutes later, they were out on the open road again. Saber tensed. She felt like she had to say something. "Soo... how've things been?" She asked V, although her question came out a LOT more awkward than she had hoped it would. "Things've been... things. Nothing exciting really." V said, looking over at her and then back at the road in front of them. Saber's face heated, usually it was easier to talk to him, she wondered why now was different, maybe the time gone by, or maybe just because there were people around, "Well that's... pretty good." She said. "What about you?" V asked, looking back at her again. Saber shrugged, "Eh. It's been okay." she said. "Well hopefully this adventure will be exciting! Add some color to our lives!" V said happily. "...Sure, yeah •u•" Saber said, smiling. V drifted off towards the side of the path and Eve leaned in towards Saber's ear. "Soo... What's up with you two?" She asked. "What'do you mean?" Saber said, keeping her gaze straight ahead of her. Eve gave her a look; "That was NOT a regular, casual conversation." Saber turned her gaze to the ground, "We just haven't seen each other in a while, that's all.." "Why haven't you? He used to be over at least once a week, now it's been two months since we saw him in the house." Eve asked. She was honestly curious, although it sounded like she was mostly just mocking Saber. Saber just shrugged, "Just got busy I guess.." Eve narrowed her eyes, "Hm. Well, maybe this mission... quest... whatever this is, will help with that." They walked on for a little while longer, and as the sun began to set they put up their tents and ate some of the food they'd packed for dinner. Saber and V stayed out to stargaze. They laid down in the field next to their campsite, only a few yards away from the tents. Saber looked over at her friend, "Remember the last time we were watching the stars like this?" She asked. "Yeah... seems like so long ago now.." V sighed. "Yeah. Really though, it was only like... a few months ago, right?" Saber asked, turning over to face him. "I think so." He said, still staring at the stars. A specific set of starts caught Saber's eye, "You know stars, which constellation is that?" She asked. V squinted at the pattern, "Looks like... Manisea. There's actually a story behind that one. One day, two friends were walking on a path through the forest, and one got distracted by something, unspecified, in the woods around them. The other didn't notice and kept on walking. When they finally realized they'd lost each other on the path, the one behind ran forward, and the one forward ran behind. Now they're stuck eternally running to reach each other, though they never can." He said, V loved constellations and knew the stories behind almost any one you could name. Saber paused "Huh... well.. we should probably get inside, shouldn't we?" she asked. "Yeah.. probably." V answered. They kept laying down for another minute, locked eyes for a moment, and then Saber got up. "Well, I'm gonna head to bed, see you in the morning!" She said. "G'night!" V called, smiling. "Night." Saber said, ducking into her tent. V watched her go to her tent and stayed on the ground for a few more seconds before finally getting up and heading to his own.
