The Imperial army is made up of two distinct parts: the traditional army It uses line infantry, older breach locks and in some cases percussion cap, or even flintlock muskets. The traditional army is 100% Relaen, no non Relaens are allowed join, it’s seen as quite prestigious to be a part of the traditional army, and is mostly an excuse by the government not to invest more into modernising the military. On the other hand the modernised army is fully equipped with breach loading rifles, fully standardised uniforms and modern training. But yet it’s seen as poor and for stupid or inferior people’s, it has a lot of Drenik troops but is still mostly Relaens. The government has modernised these troops thet see as “inferior” to satiate the reformists who want a modern Skåland while also modernising troops they deem to stupid to rebel against them.
