Hope this helps anyone who does public gearing or is wanting to! :3 1. Keep a bag or backpack close to you If you ever feel unsafe or threatened well wearing gear, such as when there are any haters or anti-therians around, you can keep a school bag or backpack so that you are always able to put it away. 2. Be with other people When you are public gearing, being with friends is a good way to avoid bullying, especially if they support you, or are therians, furries, otherhearted, otherpaw etc. since they most likely know the feeling and have experienced hate if they also wear gear. 3. Ignore hate If someone is calling you a furry, barking/meowing at you, or insulting you for wearing gear, it is best to ignore them or use a hate comeback. If you react to it seriously or emotionally, the hater(s) will know that they hurt you, and are likely to do it again. 4. Protect your gear Some people may try to grab your gear, and sometimes even try to break it, like pulling on your tail or taking your mask or ears and stomping on them. Be mindful of your surroundings, especially if you feel someone may try to grab your gear.
