Where the story isn't handed to you, it grows around you, through you, because of you? Where a small character in the right place at the right moment can become legend? ︶⊹︶︶⠀୨୧⠀︶︶⊹︶︶⊹︶︶⠀୨୧⠀︶︶⊹︶ WELCOME TO THE THREE KINGDOMS: The world has no memory of what came before it. Only fragments. Scratched into bark. Pressed into clay. Whispered mouth to ear across generations by cats who understood that some things must not be forgotten. Three kingdoms occupy this land. Each ancient. Each distinct. Each carrying something old in their blood that they do not fully understand yet. Beyond their borders live Loners: free, unaffiliated, and answerable to no one. And occasionally, from roads that lead somewhere no kingdom cat has ever been, come Merchants. Travelers from distant lands bearing strange accessories, stranger stories, and the occasional rumor of impossible creatures called Upwalkers that walk on two legs, wear false pelts, and have claws that can build entire worlds. No one knows if Upwalkers are real. The Merchants seem very certain they are... ︶⊹︶︶⠀୨୧⠀︶︶⊹︶︶⊹︶︶⠀୨୧⠀︶︶⊹︶ THE THREE KINGDOMS: ~GRIMMHOLT~ "Every story started here. Not all of them ended." The oldest forest in the known world. Paths that shift just enough to unsettle. Standing stones at the kingdom's heart that predate every cat alive and possibly everything else too. Grimmholt cats are storytellers, memory-keepers, slow to trust and impossible to shake once they have decided you matter. Most are born with small antler nubs that elders adorn over years into elaborate displays— carved bone, copper wire, dried flowers— each one a record of a life lived. If something happened in this world, Grimmholt probably remembers it. They just might not tell you. ︶⊹︶︶⠀୨୧⠀︶︶⊹︶︶⊹︶︶⠀୨୧⠀︶︶⊹︶ ~NEVERFALL~ "Quoth the Raven, Nevermore." Clifftops and ravines where the wind never fully stops. Dens carved into rock faces. Bridges of bone and vine strung across dramatic drops. Ravens everywhere, watching, occasionally repeating things they should not have heard. Neverfall cats carry dramatic wing-shaped fur patterning along their shoulders and spines and are entirely aware of how good it looks in the wind. Death is not feared here, it is poeticized, ceremonialized, given the weight it deserves. Their funerals are the most beautiful events in the known world. They perform grief like art. They mean every word. ︶⊹︶︶⠀୨୧⠀︶︶⊹︶︶⊹︶︶⠀୨୧⠀︶︶⊹︶ ~TIDESFELL~ "Drowning in Riddles." Sea caves. Tidal tunnels. Bioluminescent pools in the deep dark that make the iridescent scaling common to Tidesfel bloodlines glow in colors other kingdoms don't have names for. The kingdom sits at the edge of the known world where the land gets uncertain and the sea makes its own rules. Tidesfel cats never lie. They simply don't tell you everything. Merchants gravitate to their shores. This is not an accident. Information is currency and Tidesfel has always been very good with money. Nothing said here means only one thing.
