Operation Cube The war between Stakraine and Ketz had dragged on for nearly three years. Entire cities were scarred by artillery craters, and millions had grown used to the distant rumble of gunfire. But on a gray autumn morning, Stakraine launched something different: Operation Cube. Captain Alexei Volkov, a veteran pilot haunted by previous missions, sat in the cockpit of a bomber streaking across the clouds at 45,000 feet. Beside him flew four other aircraft carrying the new X14 missiles. Their orders were precise: strike Ketz command positions while avoiding nearby UKAC and KPU forces. One mistake could ignite an even larger war. Far below, Colonel Markus Voss of Ketz was inspecting defensive lines when radar operators began shouting. The warning came too late. The X14s screamed through the sky like bolts of silver lightning. Explosions erupted across supply depots, communication bunkers, and artillery positions. The attack lasted less than four minutes. When the smoke settled, military reports estimated 10 dead and nearly 200 wounded. The physical damage was limited, but the psychological effect was enormous. No one in Ketz had expected Stakraine to strike so deep and so quickly. That night, Alexei returned home expecting celebration. Instead, he watched the casualty reports scroll across a screen. Among the wounded was a teenage field medic. For the first time, the targets on his maps felt like real people. Meanwhile, Colonel Voss stood among the ruins of a shattered command post and made a vow. Operation Cube would not end the war. It would only begin a new chapter. As winter approached, both men found themselves changing. Alexei began questioning the war he had spent years fighting, while Voss transformed from a cautious officer into a determined commander seeking revenge. Neither knew it yet, but their paths were moving toward the same battlefield, where the fate of Stakraine and Ketz would be decided beneath a sky filled with fire. Operation Cube was only Phase One. The real war was still coming.
