Similarly to Minecraft spiders, and other invertebrates of the blocky world, scorpions are much bigger than their real world counterparts. They spawn in all warm biomes on the surface at night, and are neutral in light areas, but hostile in the dark, like spiders. Similarly to spiders, they also spawn in caves, specifically those in warm biomes, except for lush caves and always in sulfur caves. Scorpions are similar to spiders in many ways, including their fear of armadillos. However, spiders are also afraid of scorpions, as scorpions won't hesitate to hunt them. Scorpions can be bred with raw meat, and so can spiders! Spiders will produce an egg sac which hatches into baby spiders, which are tamable (granting the achievement "Terrific!"), but scorpions will produce 2-5 babies which will then hop onto their backs. When mama scorpions get hostile, their babies will hop off to attack before climbing back on. Scorpions, upon death, drop spider eyes and scorpion stingers. Stingers can be fried, although it's still sort of yucky, or made into desert stew along with cactus. Desert stew will give you a new effect which forces you to turn towards hostiles, including players you have recently attacked or been attacked by. This could be both helpful and annoying, depending on the situation. Scorpions in dry biomes will be tan, and scorpions in wet biomes, such as jungles, will be black, and scorpions in EXTRA wet biomes like mangroves will be dark brown with red legs. Scorpions in sulfur caves will be brown. I'm not sure if this is possible, but spiders getting a remodel would be really nice. I think they're a little TOO big, as in, they would be better as a sort of lesser enemy Ie rats and goblins, and the big spider role could be for tarantulas, which I can assure you, live in way more places than you'd expect! My boyfriend actually used to experience a migration of them every so often, which sounds so horrendously foul. Also the minecraft spider is just really, really outdated. Especially the legs. The legs annoy me. Also, I didn't mean to make the pincers different sizes and facing outwards but I mean. You get the idea, right? (don't worry, it spawns less frequently than spiders. And yes, it will poison you if it stings you, but usually it goes for a pinch attack. And if you didn't notice, the "Terrific!" achievement is a reference to Charlotte's web, since she wrote that woahhhhhh WHATTTTTT *insert a sound effect here so JPBH won't get bored*)
