A 2022 contract was reopened, called the Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle. It’s a next-generation for the Bradley that Vespatian contractors couldn’t fulfill in time with requested specifications. Specifications are listed below: a) Vehicle must weigh between 33-40 metric tonnes, and be airdrop capable. b) Vehicle must be chambered in 30mm, with the option to upscale to 35 or 50mm. c) Vehicle must have 9 dismounts. d) Vehicle must possess active and passive protection systems for drone, missile, and slow-moving projectiles. e) Vehicle must possess a modular nature, taking form in interchangeable mission packages. (See KF-41). f) Vehicle must fit 2-3 units within the cargo bay of a C-17. g) Vehicle must be equippable with an ERA (and potentially a NERA underlayer) protection package. h) Vehicle must carry 2 ATGMs within a separate launcher fixed to the turret. i) Vehicle must include ultra-lite next generation composite armor.
Firms from Karsvetia and Valdurenmaa, and Neunseitenlande are producing competitors. Contract is open to other producers.
