BUDDIES!!!! WOOOOO! I'M BACK!!! In the project is (almost) all the art I drew while at summer camp! I will also be sharing some stories of what went down while I was there <3 Enjoy!! Firstly, it was so much fun! I got to swim, do go karts, eat ice cream, and more!!!! On the day I got there, I had to unpack me bedsheets and set up, after that, I went to do what they call a swim check, just so they know I can be safe in water. I had to tread water for 15-30 seconds over the 9ft area, and then swim out. Super easy! I don't remember much else from this day, but it was fun!!! They also do what they call theme nights! The first night was so funny, it was called Granny Slam, and it was basketball themed XDD From that, you can probably guess everybody's costumes and what not. I did get a lot of ant bites on my feet from being in the field, but they didn't hurt too bad, so dw, I survived <3 ANYWAY! I rant a lot, sorry. I should probably just highlight stuff but aghhh! There's so much to say!!! THEY HAD A BLOB!!!! I didn't get to do it tho, sadly. Girl stuff ruined the party :/ The meals were pretty good tho! And they had a clinic on campus so it was easy to get some painkillers and such! They also had a cool store! (Expensive as high hell but that's aside the point) During my freetime, i'd usually get some sort of ice cream and hang out in the pinnacle, which is basically just a lounge on the second story of one of the buildings. All of the Theme Nights in order were: Sunday: Granny Slam Monday: Pirates of the Car-Ridge-ean (Because the camp I went to was the Ridge at Pinecove Tuesday: Operation Ridge Rescue Wednesday Glogres (A shrek themed dance rave) Thursday: Yaht Club (Basically just all water activities open for 2 hours. Wake park, Flow rider, Pool, you name it.) Friday: Nice Night ("Fancy" dinner with pretty dresses. You get walked into the caf by a male counselor. Or if you're a guy, you walk in a female counselor to her table) I didn't participate in too many of the games due to loudness and physical strain, but it was entertaining. So many campers lost their voices on wednesday sob- I didn't go inside the rave because I forgot my headphones and it was too loud for me, but I did wear a ton of bracelets and my Uzi Shirt! I also got to hang out on the porch with some other sound sensitive campers like me, so it was really fun! On the pirate theme night they played a special version of capture the flag, which was really funny to watch between the 4 teams. My team lost horrible though XD During operation ridge rescue, I hung back with some of the other kids again, doodling in my sketchbook and what not The gist of that night's game was basically our counselor got kidnapped by bad guys, and it was up to the cabin + cabin aunt to find them. A cabin aunt basically just hangs out at times, stays during evening showers, mealtimes, etc. Kinda a second adult to help the counselor manage us gremlins. Another super fun thing about camp are the staff names! Every staff member has a camp name, and they keep their identity secret until the last night. Some got name dropped though, sooooo- lollz. My camp counselor's name was Shaka! (Full name, boomshakalaka) It's just a silly little thing. There was others as well! Goob, chicken joe, polly pickpocketer, little bowl cut boy, etc. Our camp aunts were P + Goldie :) Everyone is really nice and supportive!! They made camp so much fun! :) I did have some issues, home sickness, and what not, but it was overall a very fun experience, and honestly a ton better then when I went to Outback (Their middle school campus) in 2024 for 6th grade, as I've grown as a person! I dunno if I should learn to drive ever though, because I was uh- quite reckless on the slick track. (go karts) I went full speed basically the entire time LOL- I'm on the waitlist for 2027, and would really like to go. It's gonna be damn weird going to camp as a 15yr old- Growing up feels really odd. It felt like not long ago I was just a 6yr old bingus playing in the sprinkler with my pitbull or flicking the feather stick toy over my little cat. Time really does fly- OFF TOPIC THO! I'd like to lastly say, that I will definately be more prepared for camp next year, as I know what ridge is like, and what to expect. I really needa learn to take shorter showers because we only have like 5 minutes! It's craazy! You better bet I took like a 30 minute shower when I got home XD ALSO THEY PLAYED MEGLOVANIA IN THE CAF AFTER LUNCH ONCE!!! I GOT SO EXCITED- Anyway, this was a crazy yapfest!!! If anyone is curious on anything, feel free to comment a question! Love y'all, ciao!!!
