Run this project and stare at the cross in the middle while the pink spots around it flash on and off. Within a few seconds, a ghostly green spot will appear among the pink ones, but it isn't actually there.
How it works ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The spots take turns to disappear and reappear very quickly, causing a gap in the circle that races around. This confuses your brain, which fills in the missing spot with a different color, creating a magic green spot that doesn't exist.
