Ever since I found Donut, I've been discovering a lot of things about the doublecat species. So, I've decided to put together a guide for how to take care of them properly. Note that I will be updating this guide as I discover more things, so make sure to check on it ever so often to see if things have changed! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ToC - Diet - Bathing/Cleaning - Activities - Sleep --------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Diet < So from what I've observed so far, doublecats are carnivorous in some way. They will not eat any fruits, vegetables, or plants in general. They seem to prefer fish, but any meat will do. I know this because I was eating some salmon last night and Donut snatched a piece right off my plate before I could eat it! Another thing I've discovered is that they /love/ sweets. Like, adore them. I'm not sure why, but they'll eat any candy or sweet things, including cakes, cupcakes, and cookies. If you have a stash of candy somewhere in your house, hide it! Donut in particular is fond of caramels, but I'd assume that each Doublecat has its own preference in candy. Just make sure that they don't only eat sugar because that probably can't be good for them lol --------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Bathing/Cleaning < Um apparently doublecats despise getting water on them! I unfortunately found this out the hard way and had to sit through a Donut temper tantrum when I accidentally spilled my water and a few drops landed on her fur. This will make it really hard to try and clean doublecats, but they do clean themselves like normal cats do so it shouldn't be a big problem. You'll probably want to avoid going to the pool or a large body of water with them because they also cannot swim --------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Activities < From what I've seen so far, doublecats are usually very energetic creatures when you get to know them! They'll enjoy any physical activities such as going on walks or chasing things, so they can be very useful if you convince them to help you with housework. Because of this and their dislike for water, they will not like rainy days and will feel cooped up, so they'll demand more attention than normally. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Sleep < The thing about doublecats being very active creatures is that it's difficult to get them to sleep when they aren't tired. Typically they'll fall asleep at the same time you do if they've done things during the day, although there can be some exceptions. If your doublecat is refusing to go to sleep, perhaps take it on a short walk and that'll tire them out. As for where they sleep, they'll sleep anywhere that's fluffy and comfortable enough. If you don't want them sleeping in your bed, a pet bed, blanket, or even fuzzy sweater will usually work just fine!
