iiii. backstory ( tw. blood + death ) : the roaring of thunder rumbled from the sky above, a flash of white-hot lightning tore through the dark, grey clouds that clothed the blue so tightly, not letting the warm sun shine through. the heavy rain felt like stones being pelted against the deputy's cream and black pelt as he sprinted through the green grasslands of flurryclan, speeding winds whipped through his fur. he panted as he came to a screeching stop, to recover his breath for a quick minute. then caught his attention, through the bellowing thunder, through the raging storm, a cry for help. who- the cat knitted his brow, confused and concerned, because who would be out in this weather? then he trotted off to see who was the source of the sound. his pace grew slower as he neared the crier, and then he came to a full halt and stared. he forgot how to breathe. a she-cat, gorgeous as dawn lay down in front of him, in front of the thunderpath. she stuck out like a white rose in a field of mere weeds. she was not pretty, not cute, simply beautiful. timeless. he could've believed that she was a goddess, an angel from above, if she had not been bleeding out in front of him, her breathing shaky and shallow. the two felines made eye contact, not a word spoken between them. they stared at each other unblinkingly for a long, long time. the goddess then wearily looked down at something, someone. the deputy couldn't believe he hadn't noticed her. a kitten, barely just born, slumbering close to her mother's heart, unaware that her mother was dying. they say ignorance is bliss for a reason. the fallen goddess then looked up at the tom again, a pleading expression in her eyes. the other feline understood, for he had children of his own. he took a few hesitant steps forward, the mother gently nudging her kit towards him. he held it by its scruff, careful not to wake up the little cherub, as he turned to leave. he gave her one last pitying glance, as there was nothing he could do to save her, then bounded off towards his home, some place where her kit could be cared for. with the reassurance that her only child would be safe and loved, the goddess finally closed her eyes, and could rest at last. ‧₊ ✦˚⊹ iv . the cherub : ❝ why do you seek the living among the dead? ❞ ╭─── ⋆⋅ ⋅⋆ ───╮ " when i first saw you, i couldn't believe that you were a real kitten. you look like the endless skies itself. " ☁︎ daydreamkit , afab what a sight this young kitten is to behold! if you had been less sure, you might have thought that she was a heavenly being from above, a seraphine angel sent to the earth below. fur of snowy white drapes her graceful form, as soft and wispy as though it is spun of cirrus clouds. her paws are dipped in a soft stormy grey while her back is dusted with similar colors, patterns that mirror the sky itself with their faint dappling of a paler hue. to see her is to think that the worlds skyward bound have been woven and threaded into this ethereal felidae, the name of daydream quite apt for one as otherworldly as she. tall ears reach upwards, each one crowned with a tip of flowing fur that trails downwards, one a deeper grey than the other and both dusted in faint speckles of white like that of a dusky scene. locks of fur fall around her face, turning from a deep grey to a softer bluish hue, framing her face in cascading swirls of soft fur. but there is another thing to her, the aspect that makes you wonder if this is truly a being of this world standing before you. fur in the shape of a dove's wings extends out from around her face, each tuft as white as a swan's feathers, the wing-like form of them fluttering softly in the breeze. a lock of fur hangs in front of her face, half obscuring eyes of purest blue with long trailing eyelashes. gazing into them feels as though you are lost within the sky, floating for an eternity within their captivating depths.
