You are surprisingly unlikely to see many creatures out in the open, since they prefer to spend most of their days snuggled up in burrows, dens, or their own secluded parts of the biome. Animals best suited for inhabiting here typically possess thick coats, blubber layers, or are very inactive. Should an animal arrive at this location and not sport any of the traits listed above, they must have a partner or even a pack/herd to huddle up with when the weather becomes unforgiving, or they'll suffer frostbite. The biome has this strange, almost anomalous property where whenever night falls, an aurora occurs, despite the islands lacking any proximity to the north pole."
