tw bl00d, de@th — There were two wolves. Starry had gotten both of them alongside Hiraeth, and now he staggered back to camp, sanguine gushing from his sides. He had to get a move on, despite the pain, even though he couldn't. And then his eye saw the very last thing. A badger. Not again, Night thought, before repressing that selfish thought again. He had to help, before it could injure any more of his loved ones— Starlight was the only one he had left. Ray took a staggering step before a weak attempt to lunge at the badger, but he simply fell to the ground and he rested there. "Look at this." The one mutter before the badger leapt at him, and Ray knew agonizing pain before the animal gave him a gash to the throat. And now there was even more sanguine flooding the ground he lay upon, of MossClan, his home. But the pain didn't hurt so much. It was starting to lessen. And briefly, names flew in his head. The ones he wanted to remember. He would never do to...go without them. Jessaminefaith. He'd been indebted to her ever since his birth. E had given him a life when no one else did. How were you supposed to repay? Skyspinner. His first best friend, and according to her, his worst one. He had to muster a broken smile at that, but the world was rapidly fading, light blinking and flashing... Primroseburst. His second best friend. She was the ray of sunshine where he wasn't. So full of life in the way Ari didn't seem to be anymore. She didn't deserve to go the way he did.. Kiteinferno. His first love and his last one. How he had cherished and gone over the days they had spent, time and time again, all the gifts, until even Kite was torn away. A serenade had ended, the poetic thought coming back. Then Stardustshimmer. He had never even talked to his brother properly, and yet...and yet— he had gone the way Starry was about to. He was about to die. But it was good when he had loved. And that four-letter word, love, lessened the pain, if only slightly. Comet. He'd been a helper to those who had loved him, and now he would help them from above. Was there a star to wish upon? One last wish before he took the step forward. And one flew past him. He'd heard it was for good lives. When a shooting star flew past you, a good cat would be with you. He had done enough. And the star flashed past Ray, as his eyes drooped forward at last, closing the tiny distance after it had been completed, after it had received closure. He now knew he had been kind and good, and that was enough. But then that thought was replaced by darkness. And he welcomed it.
My goodness. That is the most depressing piece of writing I've done. He was only 28 moons. I would have loved him to live longer and more free, but even then his life was amazing. @Bookwyrm703_is_bored: DRAGONFLY. I am forever indebted to you for giving me Starrykit. I cannot thank you enough for that. @kittycoolxx and @-jelly_beann-: Skyspinner and Primroseburst were two of his best friends and they both had such a genuinely sweet friendship with him lol. Thank you for making his life happier (a little) @QueenThorn15: My yaoiful children. No words. But seriously you wrote Kiteinferno as a character so beautifully, and his romance was one of the best in gens I think /vvpos /vvgen but genuinely thank you so much for adding a very valuable love interest into Starry's life. But all in all I loved him, and I'm devastated to see him go like this just after saving his entire clan. I adored his whole life and I say this genuinely. o7 Starrynight rest in peace you legend <33
