I think it's due time, I've been on this platform for around 4 years, even more if you count my old school accounts. And I'm kinda old? there's a lot more older people on this platform, but I think i'm ready to move on from scratch. I first joined for school, then stayed on to post art, join communities, and essentially use scratch as a social media since I wasn't allowed on other sites. But I don't think that's what scratch stands for anymore. There's children too young to be on the internet, adults too creepy and old to be on a childrens programming website, and some communities and people that are far too toxic and post content way too innapropiate for a child. Oh, and a moderation system that needs to be updated, because the moderation on this site is hell. It's actually made me realise that scratch is not a subsitute for social media (wow, whoda guessed), but a learning space for children and students. Scratch has grown a lot since I'd started, for better or for worse ( the colour change from blue to purple being one of the worse ), but it's still a lovely website. And hey, in 4 years i've gone from primary school to high school. I changed from a friend group of 3 to a friend group of around 8, from a small school on a hill to a college in-between roads that holds about 1000 students. I learnt that I like girls, and I learnt that some boys aren't worth talking to until they actually mature. I learnt that life sucks, but there's some parts that are worth living for. I've discovered what it's like to have anxiety, insecurities, fears, desires, hatred, and love. And that's not all, because there's so much left to discover. So I thank you, scratch, for being my first experience to the online world. For showing me the idiots of the internet and the most inspiring strangers. And to TSS, for being the first community I stayed in longterm, who showed me that it's okay to be silly, to write long essays about a fictional character, to feel proud in my work. and also for introducing me to the most wonderful, kindest, brilliant friends I could have. So thanks.
