"If it's expansion Koliss desires, then we shall venture forth, to the stars and slaughter all in our way. Whatever the journey ahead holds, whatever sacrifices we must make, we shall do it with a smile on our face, chanting '"Glory to Kolissia!"" -(Redacted), Minister of Warfare For millennium, we have slowly spread to a few solar systems, in a very decentralized push. All the planets we currently own are already terraformed, with us having already mined everything we could from them. Our stars are producing all the energy they can, and we have nearly mined every asteroid/meteor in our vast lands. There is nothing left, except large population centers. For this reason, the Dux has declared that expansion is the only way forward, we cannot afford to delay it any longer. Tens of millions of Kolissians have hopped aboard space vessels, even our Space Force taking as many people as they can carry, to these new lands down south. We only come across one inhabited planet, landing most of our military forces there. We bombard their cities for weeks, though they put up heavy resistance, destroying a few capital ships. In retaliation, we launch anti-matter missiles at the planet, in an instant killing millions of natives. After we finish bombarding, the surface is completely barren, with hundreds of millions dead, though many have moved into bunkers to survive. We launch Ground Forces to wipe out the remaining locals, and we begin to land the first few waves of colonizers. One by one, we enter each bunker, swarming them, however, they do not give up easily. The whole way down, we meet guerrilla fighters hiding and traps, causing more casualties than we were hoping. In one battle, the natives had us pinned down in a hallway, stalling us and allowing their volunteers to rapidly replace the dead. The Dux grabbed their halberd and led their Vanguard, racing forward with a horde of elite warriors following behind. The locals freaked out and retreated from their advantageous position, however, one brave man chucked a grenade at the Dux's weak-spot, severally injuring them. The Dux, refusing to look weak, leaned against their halberd and then cut the man who injured them down. In another incident, a city was attacked by a massive united army of natives. The city's defenders, completely outnumbered and taken by surprise, were forced to retreat from the first line of defense without a single shot fired. However, they jumped behind the second layer of defense and fought back. They grabbed the gatling guns and opened fire with everything they had, though it wasn't enough. They had to retreat deeper into the city's defenses, giving up layer after layer, despite killing tens of thousands of the attackers. Eventually, the last line of defense was pierced. The natives slaughtered thousands of Kolissians in revenge for everything that had happened to their planet, beating some of them to death. The remaining defenders began organizing a mass retreat of civilians to the center of the city. The defenders fought tooth and nail for every street, and seeing this bravery, many civilians picked up the arms of fallen defenders, joining the ranks. They would continue the fight, slowly retreating, packing the remaining Kolissians tighter and tighter. The defenders continued to fight on until they ran out of power for their guns, switching to melee weapons. Right before they were wiped out, the Dux and their army finally arrived, racing into the city from all sides and wiping out the enemy attackers. The defenders and citizens all won "Medal of the Defender", a very honourable medal. The campaign takes a few weeks, but eventually, the locals are completely wiped out and colonization has begun, with cities forming all over the planet. Elsewhere in our expansion, everything goes a lot easier. Without life to stop us, we build bases and begin rapidly terraforming the planets. We begin building mining operations all over the new lands and begin extracting resources.
