In Forscratchen, this is interpreted a tad bit differently. You see, before The Higher-Ups decided who the face of The World of Scratch was going to be. Scratch Cat and Gobo were great friends. They often hung out more than the rest of their friend group made up of Pico, Tera, Nano and Giga. One day, The Higher-Ups were finalizing their decision on who the face of Scratch were to be. Gobo had been assured by Scratch Cat that it was going to be him, because Scratch Cat was always interested in what kind of creature Gobo was, and thought The World of Scratch, filled with creativity and wonder, needed a mascot to fit that description. But when the day came, it was announced that Scratch Cat would instead be the face of Scratch rather than Gobo. After Gobo heard about it, he confronted Scratch Cat about how he felt. He thought Scratch Cat was teasing him about becoming the face of Scratch, which meant he hated him. No matter how much Scratch Cat had told Gobo he didn't hate him, Gobo never believed it. Months later, Gobo had confronted Scratch Cat again, which turned into a fight, the result wasn't pretty. Sooner or later Gobo would meet Kaj, who was infamous for many threats against The Higher-Ups due to lack of attention, he had felt exactly how Gobo felt and offered him a deal. Gobo would be the face of a "better" realm. The Forscratchen Realm. All that needed to be done was sacrifice his closest ally... Scratch Cat. To help Gobo, Kaj gave him a material called "Efface". It could erase characters over time, nearly to complete inexistence. Gobo was desperate, so he took the deal. By the time Gobo had met Scratch Cat again, he nearly looked completely different. His arms were much bulkier and longer, he hadn't showered in months which resulted in his fur to appear darker, and he had a despicable smile across his face. Along with that, the scratch mark and bandages Scratch Cat had accidentally given Gobo on their previous encounter. Soon after Gobo had finished with Scratch Cat, Kaj was satisfied, and let Gobo into the realm, along with his Efface abilities. Gobo had finally felt it. He felt like the main character. _____________________________________________ CREDITS: for Forscratchen The Forsaken Dev Team and Behavior Interactive for the inspiration and the asym genre in general (Me) for the current soundtrack playing in the background Scratch for their set of official characters _____________________________________________ "I'm what a REAL main character is like..."
