========== Instructions: ========== • You are presented with a board of tiles. Some tiles contain mines, others don't. If you click on a tile containing a mine, you lose (detonate). If you manage to open all the tiles (without detonating any mines) you win. • Opening a tile which doesn't have a mine reveals the number of neighbouring tiles containing mines. Use this information plus some guesswork to avoid the mines. • To open a tile, point at the square, with your mouse, and click on it. • To mark a tile you think is a bomb, hover over it, with your mouse, and press Space. This is represented by a flag. =============== Detailed Instructions: =============== • A tile's "neighbours" are the tiles adjacent above, below, left, right, and all 4 diagonals. Tiles on the sides of the board or in a corner have fewer neighbours. The board does not wrap around the edges. • If you open a tile with 0 neighbouring mines, all its neighbours will automatically be opened. This can cause a large area to automatically be opened up. • To remove a flag from a square, hover over it with your mouse and press Space. • The first tile you open is never a mine. • If you mark a mine incorrectly, you will have to correct the mistake before you can win. Incorrect mine marking doesn't kill you, but it can lead to mistakes which do. • You don't have to mark all the mines to win; you just need to open all non-mine tiles. • Pressing space twice or pressing Q over a tile will mark it with a question mark which can be useful if you are unsure about a tile. • Click the yellow happy face to start a new game. • If you have detonated a mine, you can click the UNDO button which appears beside the face, to continue playing that game. Clicking the undo button will cancel your time as you will have seen the positions of all the bombs on the screen. =============== Status Information: =============== • The upper left corner contains the number of mines left to find. The number will update as you flag and unflag tiles. • The upper right corner contains a time counter. The timer will max out at 999 (16 minutes, 39 seconds). • Click on the time to switch to the number of clicks counter. Click again to switch back to the time. ============== Other Information: ============== • The board has a total of 480 tiles (30 by 16), 99 of which are mines. • Not only will the first tile you open never be a mine but neither will any of the neighbours. • If an opened tile has the correct number of marked neighbouring mines, click on the opened tile to open all remaining covered neighbour tiles all at once. If an incorrect number of neighbours are flagged, or all neighbours are flagged or open, clicking the tile has no effect. If an incorrect neighbour is flagged, this will cause instant detonation. • Once the correct number of mines have been flagged, the mine counter will turn cyan. Click on the cyan mine counter to open all remaining tiles. If any mines are incorrectly marked, this will cause instant detonation. • Type ↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← → B A to switch to the original minesweeper aesthetic (black and white mode). • For a more authentic experience, you can toggle button highlighting by double-tapping S. • Type 'FLOWER FIELD' to switch to Developer mode. This mode gives you access to debugging tools. - Press D to show where all the mines are. - Double-tap U to correctly flag all mines. - Double-tap A to toggle the aesthetic. - Double-tap T to display the thumbnail. - Double-tap R to restart. - Double-tap P to show the output log. - Hover over a tile, with your mouse, and press B to toggle whether it is a mine or not.
