TUTORIAL / TIPS Click anywhere on the board. The numbers indicate the number of mines touching it. If you think a square is a mine, flag it. To win, clear the board. If there are the same amount of touching open squares as the number, all of those squares are mines. If an open square is surrounded by 1s, that square is a mine. If you lost and flags are still showing, those flags do not have mines. PATTERNS If you see a 1 2 1 pattern on a wall, the squares above the 1s are mines, and the square above the 2 is safe. If you see a 1 2 2 1 pattern on a wall, the squares above the 2s are mines, and the square above the 1s are safe. If you see a 3 on a wall with more than a width of 2 squares, all 3 squares touching are mines.If you see a 1 3 1 pattern on a corner, the square touching the 3 and is diagonally away from the 1s is a mine, and the squares that are diagonally touching the 1s away from the 3 are safe. If you see a 1 2 3 2 1 pattern on a wall, the squares above the 2s and the 3 are mines, and the squares above the 1s are safe.
