The Board of Technates has announced the implementation of the EEP (Efficient Economic Policy) to help increase economic growth to handle the military budget. Firstly, spending has been cut on many sectors except for welfare, education and military. The Fiscal Austerity implemented is to better adapt to the current economy and to reduce spending by government on projects that don’t have as much impact or profit for the nation. Secondly, to increase food production, the government has implemented a Tiller Program. The government shall buy property from rich land owners and rent them out to farmers who produce efficiently under easy terms. Since the more efficient farmers will receive more land, the efficiency of production of crops shall increase. Thirdly, the government has organised employers and workers into guilds and syndicates, divided into industries such as transport, commerce and banking; guilds were also organised for farmers and rural workers, fishermen, and skilled professions. Additionally, the government has encouraged class collaboration and bargaining between employer and worker to better foster economic harmony rather than Marxist Class Warfare. Fourthly, China has decided to go back to its roots and become an export dominated country. Since both ends of China are already industrialised, factories are able to produce goods from children’s toys to military grade fighter jets. To decrease reliance on other nations, China has for the last few decades implemented soft autarky to lift its reliance on other nations by producing goods or alternatives to products China doesn’t have at home. Finally, instead of giving economic power to politicians, the government has redistributed it to scientists, engineers and technical experts. By using technical data and scientific methods, we can increase economic efficiency and resource sustainability rather than making a fragile market economy. The EEP is inspired by Corporatist and Technocratic ideas and former nations like Salazar’s Portugal and Chiang’s Taiwan. By treating the economy like a human body, we shall be forced to cooperate to ensure survival of the entire body. And by using data and analysis, we can ensure economic efficiency and avoid the unstable markets that Capitalism created.
