// I_Supose_Im_A_Human, I go by Sol and use She/her // Tentaclekit, nicknames: Cleo // I love the concept of tentacle being named for his extra tail like a tentacle omggg and his parents must have recognized the ringed octopus pattern yessss (I was a sea nerd back in the day) I ALSO HAD TO MAKE HIS PERSONALITY CLOSE TO THE BEHAVIOURAL PATTERNS OF BLUE RINGED OCTOPI BECAUSE THAT SOUNDS LIKE AN ABSOLUTELY AWESOME CHARACTER TRAIT // 9-10, will be 6-7 over the summer, so July and one week of August ^^ (still active!!) // No… // Personality, short! Protons: Secretly compassionate, pacifist, empathetic, helpful. Neutrons: Quick to forgive, over-thinker, has a habit of imitating sea creatures, flirty. Electrons: People-pleaser, cowardly, vain, harsh // Personality, long! He was admired, as a kit, for his octopus coat and multiple tails and as he grew older, he enjoyed getting compliments. Sometimes, shamefully, Cleo said he was ‘embarrassed’ of his coat to draw attention and kind words. More often than not, he is afraid to step up for others to stay away from any trouble even if he doesn’t like disputes. Whenever he likes to help, he does it in secrecy rather than openly. He does get very rude sometimes when he feels threatened, and he’ll lose a lot of friends as a younger cat from his sharp remarks, character building for his wiser, elder-self. Just like his namesake…ringed octopi only attack on defensive, never offensive. Also like ringed octopi, he likes shrimp and crabs (his favourite are hermit crabs). He likes basking in the sun, it makes his eyes glow like fire and his (shiny) hair looks like “the ocean at sunset”. He also likes stalking around at night, especially by the beach. He loves swimming because he blends in with the water (and, if I could say, becomes ‘one with the sea’) especially on midnight swims during apprenticeship (irresponsible teenage behaviour, you know the like). After all, ringed octopi are nocturnal! He seems like the type to be a player but we’ll see, we’ll see. Cats find Cleo to be very charismatic with the way he moves (explained in the trivia/extra bit) and talks (to avoid things, mostly). // He/him // Straight though he might just be ace // I researched polycaudality instead of vestigiality as that is the name occurrence of tails in non-tailed species while Tentacle has more tails than which naturally occurs, which is polycaudality :) Tentacle is bicaudal (two tailed). Polycaudal cats (links at end) are cats with multiple tails. Their spines are completely normal up to the ‘point of bifurcation (division of something into two parts)’ at the pelvis and caudal (tail) vertebrae (singular, vertebra; the elements that make up the spine, which houses the spinal cord and is an essential component in vertebrates [animals with spines] and their whole structure) where the spinal cord goes two ways and the vertebrae are irregularly shaped. This irregularity can cause one tail to have more nerves than the other, causing that tail to grow bigger and have better motor control than the other (as observed in tentaclekit). Polycaudal cats usually move both tails together rather than individually. Incorrectly formed extra tails can cause spinal problems and in the worst case, may need to be amputated due to atrophy (decay of flesh/cells), which is not a problem Cleo suffers (hopefully). In function, another tail can increase the internal balance of the cat. Extra tails DO NOT drag on the floor, as was your concern :) (THERE IS NO INFORMATION ON THE INTERNET FOR POLYCAUDAL ANYTHINGS OMDSSS) // I need to harness the skill of playing the lyra bro Y—Y (it’s a type of lyre) // Cleo is very attached to his father, who (hopefully) dreamvisits him and his sister a lot. He loves his sister too, keeping himself in her good favour as often as he can. He didn’t want to be a bad big brother like a lot of people in history. As the nature of urchin clan is something along the lines of ‘survival of the fittest’, Cleo was always shy with his older siblings as they were all probably really strong.
CONTINUED (TRIVIA/EXTRA INFO): // Hmm….for accessories, Cleo would look amazing in seagull feather, pearls and shells (urchinclan accessories)! For a companion, he would probably get a corvid or swan. For future profession, I think he’d do a great job as a medic. He’s not one for hunting. Not that he’s vegetarian—cats are carnivorous (as opposed to dogs that are omnivores and can eat vegetables) and have to eat meat. He does like eating it but hunting isn’t the sort of thing he’d do for fun. If he did become a hunter he’d do the job but wouldn’t go beyond that. He likes summer rain because of how cool the air becomes as everything else (the floor, the trees, the sea, etc) stays warm. He’s a compassionate guy but doesn’t like being that way so he’ll most probably fall into a player habit for a few moons before learning about meaningful relationships. Hopefully he’s tall? I don’t know how tall he is but hopefully it’s around 10 inches. He loves sea spurry, a plant that grows only on the outermost cliff sides which can only be reached when the tides are low enough. He loves when the basking sharks and minke whales come by at around leaf-fall, leaving right when the cold settles into the land for the leaf-bare. Cleo finds basking sharks’ feeding pattern very humorous for such huge creatures and minke whales quite majestic. To him, they seemed huge when he’d see them (minke whales) surface for air a few kilometres from shore or when they’d jump out of the water and twist their bodies gracefully before landing in the ocean again. He maybe developed his own style of dancing based on the swimming patterns he observed since kithood from the cliffs as he watched them, who knows? Due to this, Tentacle’s overall movements are liquid-y and fluid from moons of imitating sea-creature movements. This may or may not be YET ANOTHER reference to ringed octopi, idk. Some preferences are based on things like where Warrior Cats is set! (England/Scottland) I kept this in consideration for the flower and weather preferences. Just because I entered for both Cozen AND Tentacle: I would prefer Tentacle ^^ This drawing may or may not be blank to draw in his future mate, who knows I may also have used tigers for my reference, therefore Cleo has come out very square-ey His hair is shiny like water I did that by accident BUT I do not regret it Why did this come out so good I made this I chem when I was supposed to study in like half an hour I didn’t research ‘vestigial tails’ as those are a genetic mutation where tails are small or no-existent which isn’t what Cleo has (to my understanding)! Instead I researched polycaudal cats ^^ I think polycaudality/polycaudility might just be fictional (¬⤙¬ ) A blog post: https://gcsproject.org/community/general-discussions-questions/polycaudal-cats-the-mystical-feline-with-multiple-tails/ An April fool’s article on a cat breeding site: I’m afraid this link is a satire post but it is one of like 3 on the whole internet so consider with a pinch of salt ^^ http://messybeast.com/otherfiles/polycaudal.htm A fact site: https://jspecies.com/polycaudal-cats/ BABY SAID by maneskin :) EVEN GOOGLE SCHOLAR DOESNT HAVE DATA ON THIS OMDSS
