[ The Wall ] "We're gonna build a wall" (joke) New Chicago has finished construction of a much larger wall behind the initial wall that held the Katabasis back before the Caribbean, in it's hubris, tried to fix the Katabasis. This new wall is in place of many lean-tos that used to be against the old wall. While the displacement of citizens is regrettable, it is, of course, necessary for the protection of everyone. The Wall is made of multiple layers. The first one is made of thick, reinforced concrete, with small amounts of graphene added.. Any monsters that approach must dig their way through it, or through the bedrock it is built on. After that, is a massive hollow area that was filled with gravel. This hopefully slows down any tunneling through the wall, and digging through it can end in suffocation. Next is a layer of graphene plates. This is arguably the strongest, and it completely stops any gasses or small particles of acid or something from getting through, due to how dense it is. It is about 40 feet tall, and extends across the entirety of the border of the Katabasis, and is in the process of being extended further.
[ Quarantine ] New Chicago has began a process of sterilizing all air coming into the city from outside using radiation. Of course, we can't do the air coming from high up, but we are sterilizing the air at ground level by firing extreme amounts of radiation from our wall at it. This hopefully should kill most of the parasites/diseases. Additionally, people that show ANY symptoms are quarantined for a full month, and any that are infected with the SCP are given sedatives so they will not harm themselves or others. Meanwhile, our top scientists are set to the NASM to assist in the research of the Katabasis so we can find a way to stop the infestation of our people. (Artist's interpretation of the situation)
