This is a project I've been wanting to make for a long time. Unfortunately, I've been procrastinating and creating other Scratch projects. So today, I'm taking a break from writing my Zelda fanfic and sharing how I found The Legend of Zelda. My story begins four years ago when I was a lonely fifth grader. I usually sat on the bench during recess, read books while walking to my next class, and sat alone during lunch. There were two fifth-grade classes, so I didn't get to spend time with my sister because we were separated. I would get home from school, do my homework, and then get on my Switch, playing Minecraft, Animal Crossing, and other games. One day, my mom offered a game to my twin sister and me: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. My mom is a huge fan of the franchise and thought it was time for us to jump into the land of Hyrule. Unfortunately, my sister and I were stubborn when it came to this game. We refused her offer, saying we weren't interested. This wouldn't be the last time Mom asked, but every time she did, we said no. A little later in the year, I eventually made a couple of friends. One of them was a massive Zelda fan, and ironically, her mom was too. My friend and I were sitting beneath the playground, talking about our interests, when she brought Zelda into the conversation and asked if I'd ever played it. I hadn't at the time, but the conversation made me want to try it. The next time my mom asked, I said yes. After a while of getting familiar with the game, my friend and I would talk about it constantly—during bus rides, after practice, at school, and anytime we saw each other. I would tell her the locations of Fairy Fountains and give her tips for defeating Divine Beasts. Please keep in mind that I didn't play through the game by myself. I had help from my mom and sister. After fifth grade, my friend moved away, leaving my love of Zelda to myself. Later on, I played through the game on my own and completed it. Then I beat it probably two or three more times before eventually moving on to other Zelda titles: Wind Waker, A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, Echoes of Wisdom, Age of Calamity, and Tears of the Kingdom. My twin sister never really liked the series besides Echoes of Wisdom and Tears of the Kingdom, so I would play by myself, immersing myself in different versions of Hyrule. And that's how I found The Legend of Zelda. If my friend had never talked about it, I probably would have continued rejecting my mom's suggestions. It's funny how your friends can convince you to do things that end up changing your life. The Legend of Zelda has been a huge part of my life ever since. I'm 15 years old now, and I spend my time making edits, writing fanfics, creating art, and doing all sorts of other things related to it.
