Tips + tricks on how to get in a spop group (Coming from someone who owns a spop entertainment) 1.Be loud and clear Most labels & entertainments want to hear your voice and if it's not loud and clear, you won't likely be getting in the group. Some spop labels/entertainments might think, if you sing this quietly, then in the group, your voice won't be heard. You should also be condfident while singing/rapping, it helps alot! And increasing the volume of your voice in scratch recording area won't help much, if you sang quietly/without condfidence. 2.Vocals For vocals its quite different then you think, depending on your voice, you have to sing a song which SUITS your voice, its not wether you took vocal class or not, you have to pick a song that SUITS your voice, not just because it's simply your favorite. Sing any kpop/pop song, test out different songs, and whatever song, your voice sounds the best in, I recomend going for that song OR if there is a bridge, outro, pre-chrous part of a song you love, try out those parts and see wether it suits your voice or not! In simpler terms, find a vocal song that suits your voice rather then your most listened to. Its not because you sing bad or sound horrible if you sing, your voice just does not suit some songs and thats okay! You can test out different parts of the song to see wether your voice blends in. 3.Rap For raps, rap is generally more easier then vocals in my opinion. For rapping, its quite easy, as long as you nail the correct pronunciation and not some ''uiAuksjfhakouen'', your good to go. It also has to match the rhythm and pace of the original rap. You can even mimic the tone of the person who delivers the rap to be a good rapper. If you have any difficulties in rapping, try slowing the words down, try it first within 0.25 speed, then 0.5 speed, then 0.75 and gradually go up until you reach the normal speed. Condfidence is also a major key in rapping, if you just sound bored/tired/shy/insecure, you won't land a spot in the spop group. In simpler terms, if you just correct your pronunciation, go with the pace and mimic the original idol's tone, your rap will imrpove by a lot. And just slow down the rap, if its difficult for you and gradually go up in speed when you gain the condfidence. 4.Song duration Many spop labels/entertainments don't want to hear a full cover of any song. Your audition folder has to be completely raw, with no music for us to see wether we land you in or not. We need short verses but not short, we don't need ultra short verses to hear your voice, for example, 1 word per recording. And we don't need long recordings to hear your voice, such as a full song cover. The perfect duration of rap, we want to hear for example: (Pink Venom - Blackpink) (Lisa's rap) Black paint and ammo', got bodies like Rambo Rest in peace, please, light up a candle This the life of a vandal, masked up, and I'm still in CELINE Designer crimes, or it wouldn't be me (oh). That is a good duration to show your skills in rapping, for vocals it can be the same duration of the rap, it doesn't need to be 1 line at a time or the entire song. 5. Korean If you audition for a lookalike group with many korean songs/lyrics in their songs, you should add a different sprite for korean pronunciation. I recomend going 1 vocal line, or a rap line, whatever works best for you. So the spop labels/entertainments can see wether your korean pronunciation is good or not. If pronuncing + singing korean words are hard for you, I recomend going to ai and telling them to pronunce those korean lyrics to you BUT in english words, such as 안녕하세요 ---> Annyeonghaseyo. Ai can help you break down pronunciation. In simpler terms, if you will audition for groups with mostly Korean songs/songs with lyrics mostly in Korean, its best to keep a section seperate for Korean pronunciation. If your finding difficulties pronouncing them, ask ai for clear pronunciation of Korean words but in English letters. Remeber, most spop labels/entertainments only want 1-2 lines of your Korean pronunciation. 6.Experimenting If you are auditioning for many spop groups, such as many groups with different lookalikes. The best option is to expand. By expanding, I mean cover songs of different styles, if your auditioning for babymonster lookalike group, have a girl crush rap in your raps folder, if your auditioning for an twice lookalike group, then have cutesy vocal songs. It's all about expanding your dictionary to many words. 7.Sprites In my opinon, its better to have different sprites with no costumes and just recordings separately. For example, if your doing vocal, DON'T mix it in with rap/korean and vice versa, use a seperate sprite for every department. ALSO DON'T MIX IN YOUR AUDITION FOLDER WITH YOUR LINES FOLDER! For vocal/rap/korean, I recommend having 4-6 recordings for each department. I think change your style in each rap/vocal, so spop labels/entertainments can see your ability to change your style.
These are just some tricks I'd thought I would share to you guys because Ik it feels bad getting rejected from groups! Remeber its ok to get rejected a FEW TIMES because many spop labels/entertainments look for unqiue voices that suit a certain lookalike & mistakes are ok to create, because thats how you learn from them! Hope this project helps! + Goodluck on everyone's spop journey Banner: @_-strawbxrry-_
