ROZES A quiet world, a gentle smile, One that’s love will stretch over miles. The Birch sways in the breeze, And the Roze dances, her grin nothing but a tease. The Silvan scene darkens with night, And the wolves will come out, always snarl and bite. Silvan bends to protect the Birch, Though she moves away with a lurch. As the Roze grows, the Birch starts to decay, But the beauty of the flower keeps any fear at bay. Is Roze a nutrient sucking weed? Will her thorns make Birch bleed? Curse, Pain, plague, blight. Darling, Partner, Souls delight. Colors mixing like an oil painting swirl. Emotions switch so fast, it makes you want to hurl. The Roze expands out of the Silvan, Birch follows. As the bond between the two swells, but also hollows. Silvan holds on. He doesn’t want Birch to leave. Roze lashes out, and his grip cleaves. Roze reaches out to Birch in a gentle caress, Prickles drawing blood, making a mess. The blood drip, drip, drips, The rush makes Birch’s heart skip, skip, skip. Vines wrap around the Birch, thorns piercing bark. The vines cover Birch’s eyes, making the world go dark. Birch looks to Roze, to her eyes, a lethal gray. Though death tugs at Birch now, forever she’ll stay . Now the vines are still on that tree The vines with the flower, the one that brings bees. The bees may bite and sting, But all rozes have thorns, and along they cling.
