Alana Alestar chapter four: the sorting hat's riddle After 10 minutes of waiting in a small side room, The first years made their way out into the great hall and sat in small stools set up at the front as the sorting hat was brought into the hall. The old hat started to speak to all the first year's surprise. "Students young and students old, here is a poem I have never told Gryffindor, the house of bravery Hufflepuff, the house known for loyalty Ravenclaw, the smartest of the lot, and Slytherin, wit they've got But this year, something new arrives Someone new, in a family that thrives her name will be remembered forevermore if she completes the tasks she's called for four siblings four houses one destiny" everone in the hall was speechless...for about three seconds before the great hall errupted into chat. "QUIET!!!!!" Mira Mcgonal's voice silenced the students. "The sorting must continue." "But proffesor, who's the family in the riddle-" "THEY KNOW WHO THEY ARE! Now, if you please there are students who must be sorted" Teresa, Riley, Tyler, and Alana shared a concerned look with eachother. Did this mean Alana would be sorted into Ravenclaw? Most likely, they were the only family with four kids in different houses.... Mira ordered the assembled first years to form a line infront of the sorting hat, and the students quickly did so as they didn't want another outburst. Mira was already on the edge and was very snappy. Alana, like predicted, got sorted into Ravenclaw. As she sat down she noticed the rude girl from the train in Ravenclaw as well. 'Great...'
