Marleen sat next to Mia in Transfiguration class. Both were Gryffindors. After Transfiguration, they had Charms, and then the school day was over. They settled into the Gryffindor common room and read their books. Christmas was fast approaching—and with it, the Christmas Ball. Marleen wondered whether she should attend. However, she decided against it. She didn't know who to go with, and besides, she couldn't dance. Mia wasn't sure yet; consequently, she hadn't made up her mind. The next day was a Saturday, and they had the day off.
