Pride Month can be described as a period of celebration, introspection, and awareness, emphasizing the achievements made by the LGBTQ+ population and the further steps required in numerous areas around the globe. Pride Month has a rich historical background, usually dating back to the famous Stonewall riots, and it involves various activities, such as parades, educational events, and discussions with representatives of the community. However, there is another important dimension of Pride Month that goes beyond its visible aspects – it helps one consider issues related to self-awareness, acceptance, and the role played by tolerance or lack thereof at school, work, and in daily interactions. While some cities can host open and colorful events, others have Pride Month celebrations banned or stigmatized for some reason, thus making Pride both festive and reflective. In general, the main idea of this month lies in acknowledging one's human dignity, promoting openness, and questioning the inclusivity of the modern society.
