DAY 3 OF GAY MONTH - nonbinary i had no idea what to do with this one, in terms of the colors, yknow,, actually having some sorta meaning :< i don't have much to day on this guy, but i do have a thing in terms of this month!! i want to make this an awareness project on two things those being; - the lgbtq community - endangered / borderline endangered species "mint,,,..,,. how ????" making the pride critters be based of endangered species, duhh!! i'll yap about them in the credits btw
Southern Lion (Panthera Leo / Panthera Leo Melanochaita) (vulnerable / endangered?) ------------ I think these guys are very well known by now why are they African? because they live in most parts of Africa! According to wikipedia, there are only two lion subspecies. Those being Panthera Leo Leo (Northern lion), and Panthera Leo Melanochaita (Southern / African lion) In this one, I'm pretty sure i was referring to the southern lion. Southern lions are endangered to loss of habitat and prey, normally due to people. There is also a high amount of poaching due to them eating people's livestock. _ Sierra Nevada bighorn sheep (Ovis Canadensis Seirrae) (endangered) ------------- Located in the Sierra Nevada mountains, Diseases, hunting, and mountain lions have caused the endangerment of this subspecies. These sheep have cultural significance within the indigenous communities around the mountains as symbols of strength and agility! Luckily, there are conservation efforts that have been put in place to protect this species. Shevaroy Hills Earthsnake (Uropeltis shorttii) (critically endangered) --------- This shieldtail snake is endemic to the Eastern Ghats of India, living in forests as high as 1,600 feet up, and is not able to survive in human-modified habitats. This is probably why it's endangered. There is very little information on this species, but we know it's fossorial (spending most of it's life underground) , nocturnal (possibly), and feeds on worms
