This will soon get the shading treatment along with the other old planes I recently shared The Douglas BTD-1 Destroyer was a World War II American carrier-based dive and torpedo bomber developed for the US Navy by the Douglas Aircraft Company. Conceived in 1941, the aircraft was built for high speed and a heavy payload, but the end of the war and production issues meant it never saw combat. The BTD's successor was the Douglas A-1 Skyraider which was extensively used for ground support missions during the Vietnam war.
