The Gemini three hybrid is my favorite London bus! :D Here’s a bit about it. The Wrightbus Gemini 3 hybrid is a familiar sight on London streets. It’s a double-decker built by Wrightbus in Northern Ireland, usually sitting on a Volvo B5LH chassis. The "hybrid" part means it runs on both diesel and electricity. At bus stops and in slow traffic it can creep along silently using just the electric motor. Once it picks up speed, the 5.1L diesel engine takes over and helps recharge the batteries through regenerative braking. That combo saves fuel and cuts emissions in London’s constant stop-start traffic. Visually, it’s classic London red with huge windows upstairs and downstairs. The Gemini 3 body has that slightly rounded, modern look compared to older deckers. Step inside and you’ve got the familiar setup: lower deck with priority seats and wheelchair space, then the tight spiral staircase up to a full top deck. Most seat about 60, with room for another 25-30 standing. You’ll hear the soft electric whine when it pulls away, then the diesel hum once it’s moving. They started running around 2013 and operators like Go-Ahead and Arriva still have tons of them, though full electrics are slowly taking their place. :D — a rough description by Vic
