The year is 1908, and perhaps a very important one for the Empire of Takei. The reason for this? Simple; Takasane Gyondo, current ruling Emperor of Takei, is soon to abdicate his throne. After a long and successful reign, the Emperor's health has begun to worsen. Believing himself to soon be unfit for rule, he has begun preparations for his son Yuichi to take the throne in August. Having been prepared for his role since childhood, the citizens of Takei welcome the upcoming rule of Yuichi... Though they do question if Takasane truly is ill, or if he simply wishes to retire. Nevertheless, one era in Takeian history reaches its end, and another soon begins.
