Hello! Welcome to the Prism Shifter care guide! I must thank @Sages_Spirits for the layout, ty :D Here you can read about what the Prisms do, and how to care for ‘em! ━━━━━ Table of contents: ▸ General ▸ Diet ▸ Cleaning ▸ Enrichment ▸ Sleep ━━ ⟦ General ⟧ Prisms vary in different forms, colours and mixtures, ranging from common domestic animals, to neon creatures you’ve never even heard of. Their facial features are inverted, a trait which even I am not sure what it is, or why they do so. It’s an interesting little quirk, and these fellas tend to enjoy company. Each one is unique- you’d never see two of the same kind, or the same personality. Their tails grow in size considerably if scared or in a negative mood, and they do too. Furry prisms grow larger than those with skin or scales though. They can’t actually move anything, being spirits, but at the same time they cannot pass through things. As they are… not exactly from this world, the atmosphere recognises them as beings, but disallows them to cause change in the world. They may touch, but cannot move, to sum it up. Prisms travel through forms of light- if you’re on a walk with a torch, you’re liable to find a prism appear in the beam. In the day they’re everywhere too! (You can obtain them through Ntcs and Trades this way too ) ━━ ⟦ Diet ⟧ Prisms generally eat whatever you’ll give them, and being spirits, they don’t actually have to eat anything. Some palates differ, I say, having seen picky Prism’s which only eat a specific plant, and others which eat anything you give them. Although, widely, they enjoy anything natural- plants, fruit, and flowers are completely fine for them. Plus, they have rather strong stomachs, being able to digest almost anything. Some of the favourite foods I’ve noted whilst living with them are: ▸ Leaves from any sort of plant ▸ Strips of wood, somehow..? ▸ Some will eat normal pet food ▸ Unprocessed fish ▸ Legit anything else :3 ━━ ⟦ Cleaning ⟧ Prisms tend to be rather messy beings. They cause chaos around the house, although not being able to actually move anything, they generally differ. Some will sit in a corner and preen themselves, others will run around for you to catch them if they’re dirty. Most will be fine with a brush, or a trimming, but water is not often the best choice. They generally can’t swim, although some particular subspecies can, so be careful around water. To see if they can or can’t swim, just check for gills or fins, and if they have any, usually they can at least float. ━━ ⟦ Enrichment ⟧ Prisms, as I’ve said before, wreak havoc. They widely enjoy company, especially other spirits, and may be slightly nervous of newcomers for a moment before inviting them to join them. Prism shifters play with whatever you give them- not being able to move anything, they can be completely invested in a rubber ball, attempting to roll it and not being able to. ━━ ⟦ Sleep ⟧ They have similar sleep patterns to their owner, attempting to match them. Prisms are mimickers, and so they’ll copy generally whatever you do, but sometimes they enjoy to just sit down and rest if tired out. They have plenty of energy, and can manage to stay up two days and a night being sort of active before succumbing to sleep. This is rare behaviour, so unless you can manage that, they usually won’t either. Prisms enjoy to rest upon layered objects. They’d rarely settle on the floor unless covered in blankets. Shelves, and anything covered will be fine for ‘em. If the prism is small enough, they can even sleep upon stacked books, stones, or papers. ━━ You’ve reached the end of the booklet! Thank you so much for reading it! The 2/3rd time I’ll credit for the guide layout lol, tysm :3 If you own a Prism and want to know anything else - or, if you don’t, but want to know something else - then just ask!
@Sages_Spirits for the guide layout, Tysm again :3
