“Well Mia, I was wandering through the forest alone. It was good for me to get away from the noise for a while; I enjoyed the silence. Suddenly, I heard a rustling sound. A brown-and-white tomcat emerged from the undergrowth and trotted toward me. ‘Hello, Nightpearl,’ I said to him. ‘Hello, Amberwave.’ He answered. ‘What are you doing out here?’ I asked him. ‘I was looking for you.’ He said but I wasn’t surprised. But I said, ‘Why?’ ‘About the ball yesterday.’ ‘What about it?’ ‘I saw the way Lilith grinned at you while I was dancing with her.’ ‘And?’ I retorted angrily. ‘I just wanted to tell you... that... well, I didn't actually want to go with her at all. But she kept begging and said that if I didn't go with her, she’d tell you... tell you that I loved Lilith and no one else. That wasn't true, of course, but I didn't want to admit it. Besides, I didn't want you to be angry.’ ‘But then why did you go with her!?!?’ I asked him, more angrily than before. “Because... because... because I thought maybe you wouldn't see us and wouldn't even get the idea that I was with Lilith.’ ‘But I *did* see you!’ I’ve spat at him, furiously, and I ran off. ‘But Marleen!’ Nightpearl called out, chasing after her. But I was very fast—faster than Nightpearl, I mean, I’ve went to WindClan for a moon and learnt to run fast to chase rabbits. When I arrived back at the castle, I went to dinner and sat down next to you. I was still feeling downcast so I told you this.” Marleen told her finally at the table at dinner. She took a sideways glance at Lillith, who was now approaching the Silitherin house table and talking to Julian.
Collaborating with @Zoomy_’s Holly Granger series, which is now writing the story of Marleen Granger, Lilli’s daughter. Thanks to JK Rowling, Erin Hunter, and my friends for my ideas.
