Dark is already trained in dressage but I wanted to go over the basics again before starting work because I don’t know how thorough his training was before I got him. Luckily when I brought Dark out to the arena he just stood there, waiting for me to do something, some didn’t bother to tie him to a post or anything. (Warning: never do that IRL, most horses won’t just stand there) I got out the saddle pad I have for him and rubbed it around before putting it on him and just letting him get used to it. He stood calmly and it seems that he’s been properly backed before, but I wanted to make sure before starting on his actual work. I then tacked him up fully (except for the bridle) and slowly tightened the girth, and again, I had the sense he’s been backed before, but again, I wanted to make sure. I’d already put his bridle on home before and knew he was chill with it, so I skipped that for today. I was glad to know that he’s been backed before and once we do part two I know we will be ready to start this boy’s career!
Might be my last update on this account! @Stxrry-Nightz- (tack) @mythtopianpegasus (rider base and Dark) @Rosestar222 (boots)
