Just an idea I think Celts should embrace, a mixture of Celtic Paganism and Christianity. Where Christianity would be the base, and Pagan ideas would be added to create a perfect cake. :3 To start off, God. There would be one God, though like the Trinity where God is seen as (Depending on the denomination of Christian) kind of three people but one, maybe one person but three personalities, doesn't matter; this would also apply to Celtic Gods/Goddess, they would be seen as one God, but with like different personalities and such. The natural world would be EXTREMELY important, with them being considered sacred. All things in nature would have a soul, including mountains and such. Natural terrain would be viewed as a 'dwelling place' for God and the divine. Trees and animals would be seen the same way they were seen in Celtic Paganism, with them being divine and many animals acting as guides or messengers. The Celtic "Otherworld" would be what the realm of Heaven/Hell would be called, with all the divine beings (God, Angels, Demons, Spirits) being located there. For Christians, it would be a place of adventure, feasting, magic, etc, though for sinners it would be seen the same way as Hell. Its location would be thought of as natural terrain we find on Earth, not "Above" or "Below". Overall, Heaven would be how the Celts viewed the 'Otherworld' and Hell would be similar to how Christians see Hell. Reincarnation would exist, though not the same as the 'Eastern Perspective'. After death, you would travel to the 'Otherworld', though souls could be reborn through family members, explaining how some people seem very similar to their ancestors in many ways. That isn't the fate of all people, though it is possible. Druids would be a major part of Celtic Christianity, where Druids would have to study Celtic Mythology, Science and Theology. They would be very wise people who would have final say on theology and such. They would run the Churches and help people in every day life, they would also help settle conflicts and have pretty much the same role as Druids from long ago. They would study their entire life, with Church donations funding them and they would be highly respected. They would celebrate all the Celtic Pagan holidays, like the solstices, equinoxes, fire festivals, etc. Though, they would also celebrate Christmas and Easter. Creatures in Celtic Paganism would be seen as divine beings, usually being types of angels or demons. For example, fairies. :p Whether Celts would rather listen to the Pope, Presbyterians (Elders) or the British Monarch is up to them. Though they hopefully would adopt the rest of these ideas, combining their beliefs with ancient Pagan ones. What do ya'll think?
The song is 'Swedish Pagans' by Sabaton (Yes, I know it's about a very different kind of Pagans- Shut it-) I am Baha'i, I do not believe in this, but I Celts should embrace it. Most people are religious, not necessarily because they believe it's true, but because they want it to be, like being part of the religion, etc. THIS IS NOT WHAT I SEE AS TRUE CHRISTIANITY!
