At the 5th or 6th grade level, I like to use this project to introduce/reinforce the concept of using broadcast. The broadcasting happens primarily on the stage. I like to use the analogy of a director being on the stage "broadcasting" the instructions, and each sprite (actor) has their own script and costumes.
