Stirrup-less trails with Bella Small update Bella our 4 year old jumping prospect and I have currently been practicing a lot of flatwork and trust exercises. I'm planning on having her be my main show jumper in the future or maybe even an eventer, as her flatwork skills have HUGELY improved since she arrived at Alpines! she used to fly around pulling on her mouth, it was hectic! We haven't yet jumped her, we normally start jumping our horses at around 5. Today I decided to add in an exercise into our fun activities, as I normally do! I choose something quite simple, a nice trail without stirrups. This was to work on the trust factor of our work. She was pretty confident and did not spoke, which I was thankful of -You DO NOT want to be on her when she bucks- ! Pretty calm today, nothing big, other than seeing THE CUTEST little chicks in a nest on one of our XC jumps!!!!!
