Although, 20th Century Fox handled distribution for most Fox 2000 Pictures films. In 2000, AOL, Inc. would merge with News Corp USA forming AOL News Corp. Fox 2000 Pictures would become a distributor in the same year, focusing primarily on distributing independent films. It continued to act as a production company, financing some indie films. AOL News Corp's name was altered in 2007 to News Corp AOL. News Corp AOL later changed its name to Fox Media in 2013 as a way to emphasize its flagship assets which included 20th Century Fox, which owns Fox 2000 Pictures.
