A few days later. Marleen was the Keeper and Mia the Seeker for the Gryffindor team. There was practice again today. Marleen had made new friends through the training sessions. The team: Seeker: -Mia Andrew Keeper: -Marleen Granger Chasers: -Alexander Wood -Max Ollivander -Marie McGonagall Beaters: -Henri Abbott -Angelina Abbott After practice, Marleen headed back to Gryffindor Tower alone; Mia had gone to the library. On the way, Marleen ran into Julian. He asked, "Marleen?" "Yes?" "Would you like to go to the ball with me tomorrow?" "Yes!" "Okay. Then let's meet in front of the Great Hall tomorrow evening." "Okay." Marleen continued on her way. She stopped in front of the Fat Lady's portrait. "Christmas is coming," she said. "Wrong! That was last month's password!" The Fat Lady changed the password every month, which often confused Marleen. "Gryffindor is the best." "Wrong." "Bubble pudding." "Wrong." "Are there OWLs in the fifth year?" "Wrong." Just then, Mia arrived and said, "Quidditch and Gryffindor go well together!" That was this month's password. The Fat Lady let them in, and they entered the common room. It was nice and cozy inside; the fire was burning in the hearth, and the air smelled of hot cocoa. The Gryffindors had recently acquired a small kitchen, though only students in their fifth year or above were allowed to use it. However, the older students often made hot cocoa for the younger ones—and cold lemonade in the summer. Marleen went to the kitchen to get some cocoa. A short while later, she returned with two cups; she gave one to Mia and drank the other herself, settling down with a blanket and her book. With that, she sat down in the armchair. She was already looking forward to tomorrow evening. After all, that was when the Christmas ball was taking place...
