☕ Welcome to Jack's Manager Application! ☕ "Requirements to apply. //" "> You must have been on scratch for at least 3 months on any account." ☕ Yup! "> Your account cannot be on the brink of being banned." ☕ I don't think it is! "> Your application must be a remix of this project" ☕ Yup. "Form." "1. Introduce yourself tell us who you are and what you like to do!" ☕ Hello, I'm Jack, although I go by a lot of other names too. I use he/it/sun/bone/void pronouns, plus others listed in my bio. I'm a high schooler who really likes writing, both fanfics and about my ocs if the mood strikes me, and I like to think I'm a relatively good writer. I enjoy art and animation too, as well as reading, listening to music, and playing music. Currently, I'm really into the audio drama Welcome To Night Vale (as you can see by the thumbnail). I also like learning things, especially about math and science. I really love astronomy and marine science, and I'm hoping to major in one of those, if not both! "2. How active are you 1-10? Please, be honest. Being less active won’t necessarily hinder your chances" ☕ During the school year, about 8/10. I disappear occasionally because of tests and big assignments, but I'm usually on at least once a day. Over the summer, I'll be online less, and there will be weeks where I'm offline completely due to camps or traveling. "3. How do you handle stressful situations, and is there anything you can improve on?" ☕ I try to stay calm as much as possible and defuse the situation, and if that fails, I either get someone else to help me handle it, or leave the immediate area if my presence isn't doing anything to help. Specifically online, I think I've gotten very good at the "just ignore" rule-- I don't interact with people who are obviously trolling, because I don't like getting involved in pointless fights. As for something I'm improving on, I'm still trying to work on my tendency to take criticism badly. I tend to take criticism, even when it's constructive, a little too personally, so I am trying to get past that. "4. What would you bring to our studio? What would you do to help?" ☕ Definitely my ambition to keep this chat studio a wholesome, alive, but not stifling place. I'd also hope to bring a fun vibe to the studio! I want to come up with fun ideas to differentiate this studio from the many others that exist already. I'd also help enforce rules while creating as little conflict as possible and still treating people humanely. "5. What age range are you? // If you aren’t comfortable sharing, ignore this. It won’t affect your chances." ☕ I'm above 15 but below 18, so in my upper teens right now. "6. Is there anything that could get in the way of you managing?" ☕ If being off Scratch for a long time is a problem, then possibly the camps I'm going to over the summer. There's about 2 weeks where I won't be on for most of the day and one week where I'll disappear altogether. If I do end up manager, I'll give you the exact dates so you know. Similarly, the two weeks of APs next year are a time when I'll be completely offline so I can focus on my studies. Otherwise, I don't think there's much-- just a lot of scheduling. "7. Do you have any experience? Both in real life and on scratch?" ☕ I currently host two sort-of-dead roleplay studios, one which I created and one which I acquired after the old host lost interest. (The one I created used to be decently active, but I've fallen off maintaining it. I'm working on resurrecting it.) I've been a curator of many chat studios and lived through quite a bit of drama, and I've seen management done both well and ineffectually. In real life, I have a lot of experience as a helper with children's nature programs. "8. What differentiates you from other applicants?" ☕ I am a talented writer and an intensely creative mind. As much as I lack the managing experience that some others have, I nevertheless have a vision for this studio that reflects my creativity. I'm not applying solely because it seems fun or because I want another studio to manage. I'm applying because this studio sincerely seems like the first place on this platform where my creativity could possibly make a difference. I want this studio to succeed, yet to also remain a safe location. But for that, I believe we need different, creative solutions-- and I think I might be able to provide some of those. ☕ Continued in the notes & credits, I ran out of space. (d1 yapper over here. Hannissa please bear with me!! I promise there's not that much more, haha.)
"9. Why do you want to manage?" ☕ I've been in many other chat studios over the years, though not in a manager position, and I've seen a lot of them devolve into petty squabbles over rules, or drama due to a small group of people discussing material that isn't appropriate for this site or harassing someone without reason. I don't want this to happen to another budding chat studio. At this point, I've bounced around various chat studios for over three years, and I want to find one that finally stays the way it started, as a nice place for people to talk without conflict. I'm so tired of the constant conflict. If I can help this studio stay whimsical in any way, I want to try my hand at it. "10. Any extra info you want to share?" ☕ I'm in the EST timezone, if that matters. I haven't been in this chat studio for long (I think it's been about 2 days??) but I figured I'd submit an application anyway, since there's no limit on how long I need to have been in this studio. I promise I'm not doing it just to do it. Also, I'd like to state that no part of this application was made with AI in any way. It's entirely human-written. I know there's a tendency on the internet for good writers to be accused of using AI just because they can actually write in proper grammar, and I don't want to fall prey to that. "And that’s it! Good luck applicants!" ☕ Thank you, Hannissa! And thanks for reading my giant essay. :}
