What is GAD? General anxiety disorder, or GAD, is an anxiety disorder where one experiences heavy and consistent anxiety. Anxiety is heavy worrying that don't go away even if there are no triggers or problems. GAD is caused by many things such as trauma, personality, or genetics. GAD is not stress. Stress is more short term, coming from external problems and can be solved. Anxiety is similar to stress, with similar symptoms, but is consistent, staying even when a problem is removed. GAD is constant anxiety, and lasts much longer, with symptoms having the chance to worsen. How does it affect someone? GAD is consistent anxiety. Common anxiety symptoms include insomnia, unable to focus, hyperventilation, unable to rest or sit still, stomach pains, fatigue, trembling, sweating, increased heart rate, and avoiding stressful situations. How will it affect Nightfall? Nightfall will be very hesitant to trust other cats, but once he trusts someone, he cares about them a lot. He checks his surroundings often and is sensitive to little sounds, checking where they're from. Night sleeps in late, he'd rather sleep than worry. It takes him a while to fall asleep though as he tends to think about conversations and all the things he thinks he did wrong, even if it wasn't wrong. How will Nightfall cope? Nightfall combs out his fur often as a repetitive habit to calm down. He will fidget with really anything, his accessories, fur, random stuff he picks up off the ground. He will leave if there are too many cats around or just stand near a trusted cat quietly. If he gets too overwhelmed he will just run away to a quiet spot and curl up into a ball.
