Tw: repeated mentions of death and grief, lnsanity Death. Sizzlingstar had known it as a kit, apprentice, warrior, and now as a leader. It stalked them, toyed with them. But who did Death choose to kill? Who did they end for Sizzlingstar's pa!n? Every single cat they had ever known. All except the kits they found, but they kept them at a distance. Don't love, nor like, because whenever Sizzlingstar did either of those, Death claimed the lives of those kept close. Mischiefmiracle though... They supposed that Death simply had not found a chance to take them yet; they had survived by Sizzle's side abnormally long. No. How could a figurine of Death be the one to cause Sizzlingstar's grief? Death had not killed half the clan; that was starvation and wolves. So who, or what was Death truly in the end? They turn to kits smiling, a second face all too normal. No grief for the mighty leader; was that not the rule? Heh. So who would Death be? Us all, wouldn't it? They all killed, even the kits, if only bugs. Innate nature, wasn't that what it was? Smile, Sizzle. Every cat around you is Death in a cloak. Maybe not Mischief though; they were a pure cat in a world of shadow. Nightshadeconspiracy, their only other surviving friend, was a killer at heart, weren't they? WEREN'T THEY ALL? Smile... That's what they do, but also what Death does. A victim claimed, a gleeful smile. Every cat but one was Death. Every cat but one would rip them to shreds. So smile. Smile in the face of death, and watch it smile back. Well... If death is who smiles, and I smile too, what makes us different? A smile in the face of grief of one's own, and a smile in the grief of others wasn't so different, after all. If everyone was Death to Sizzle... Then they would do something too. They were cursed with eternal grief. No cat was safe near them. Every cat was out for them... Would strike at those close to them. But now that none were close to them, they would strike Sizzle themself. At least, after Mischief was gone. So, if everyone was Death to them, they would be death to everyone. You were wrong, Popcorn. It was not luck. It never was. It was t0rture. If I never lived, you would be alive. Your skill would guarantee that. Death smiles, for I do. A brilliant smile splits across their face. It now rarely leaves it.
I was planning this for a while actually. This is meant to be Sizzle's response to their grief cause... A lot of cats around them died. Just a little lore development for Sizzle, and just a fair warning, they're going to be a bit more... Unhinged, let's say.
